YOUTH PROGRAM FACILITATOR (EN PLEIN ART)
Job description
Under the responsibility of the Youth Program Leader
Summary
The day camp facilitators are responsible for creating a warm and personalized contact with the participating children. Their role is to ensure the supervision of the children, to lead workshops and creative activities by presenting targeted educational content, all in a safe and stimulating environment.
Responsibilities
Group management
- Supervise and manage your group of children in the studio and on outings, respecting the daily schedule for each activity;
- Ensure a stimulating, safe and trustworthy environment at all times;
- Communicate with the person in charge, according to the protocol in place, in case of any incident or difficulty that requires informing the parent.
Communications
- Use prescribed methods to communicate content and explain activities to children;
- Communicate positively with children, while sharing their passion for art and creation.
PROFILE REQUIRED
- The candidate must be in the process of obtaining a degree in education, fine arts, art history or a related field.
- Express an interest in a young audience (6 to 12 years old);
- Demonstrate a strong interest in contemporary art;
- An aptitude for artistic creation and manual activities;
- Experience in animation and/or in the artistic or cultural field is an asset;
- Demonstrate maturity, a sense of responsibility, punctuality and ethics;
- Demonstrate good humour, dynamism, curiosity and interpersonal skills;
- Bilingualism; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in French and English;
- First-aid training is an asset.
- Meet the Young Canada Works requirements to qualify as an eligible student.
Terms and conditions of employment
- The conditions of employment are in accordance with Quebec labour standards.
- 40 hrs/week position, from June 26 to August 25, 2023
- Salary of $19/hr
- Daytime availability during the week (8 AM-4 PM or 9 AM-5 PM)
- Paid training dates: June 26-28, 2023
- Program facilitation dates: July 3 to August 25, 2023.

YOUTH PROGRAM LEADER (EN PLEIN ART)
Job description
Under the responsibility of the General and Artistic Direction
Summary
The Youth Program Leader is responsible for facilitating the workshops and creative activities for the 2022 art day camp. He/She is responsible for training the team of facilitators in the content and pedagogical techniques of the program. During the camp, he/she is responsible for supervising and guiding the facilitators who are responsible for their groups of children. The objective of this role is to ensure a fun and interactive learning experience for the children in a safe and stimulating environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the running of the workshops: time and material management, demonstrations of techniques, encouraging children’s participation, etc. ;
- Train, supervise and evaluate the work of the facilitators;
- Ensure the participation of the facilitators in the workshops related to the weekly themes;
- Assist the facilitators with daily activities (breaks, outdoor games in the Parc de L’Imaginaire);
- Accompany the group on outings and support the integration of each participant;
- Contribute to photographing the art day camp to document the progress of workshops and activities;
- Participate in a post-mortem meeting after the submission of a report on the camp experience;
- Ensure the maintenance of a safe and clean environment in the studio and Parc.
PROFILE REQUIRED
- The candidate must be in the process of obtaining or have a degree in education, fine arts, art history or a related field.
- Experience working with youth (6-12 years old).
- Bilingualism; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in French and English.
- Knowledge of art history and art practices.
- Experience with drawing and art-making techniques in a studio setting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt teaching practices to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Daytime availability during the week (9 AM-5 PM)
- Paid training dates: June 26-28, 2023
